Decent remake of a superior Spanish film, funny and heartwarming, could be more edgy...

This is a remake of the Spanish 'Campeones' from 2018, which I watched the day before I watched this version of it.

The main plot is the same, certain scenes are exactly replicated. What was good about the original still works here: this film is overall funny, and it is full of heart. You are going to care about these characters.

The original had more swearing and was a bit more edgy, and that could have worked here and made this better. Especially with a Farrelly brother as the director, I wish this were a rated R with more cussing and irreverence. Maybe they will release an unrated cut, but I've already spent my 2 hrs on this.

This is a good movie that made me laugh and also get misty eyed, I think the original from Spain (2018) is better - but if you don't know Spanish and don't like subtitles, this is an acceptable substitute.
