Friend and dad were unsympathetic A holes

It would be very traumatic for one to watch their lover fall to their death.
That person might have PTSD and would need to get professional help from a shrink to help them get past it and they would need the space to heal from the grieving as long as it takes.
They were like, "Get over it already! Hey, I know what you need! Let's go climbing up a high and unstable tower! That will help you get over it. Right?"
Now the poor girl will have even more to recover from that she may never do.

I found my dad dead, with a bullet hole in his head, then cleaned up the huge puddle of blood after the cops left with the body. I didn't need professional help from a shrink. Everybody's not the same.

Missed my point.

The girl in the movie who watched her husband fall to his death was very fragile and vulnerable after that and the last thing she needs is to climb up real high on an unstable tower or even anything.

The dad and friend should have been way more understanding and give her as much space and time as she needs to grieve.

As a movie it should have been written better for the motivation for her to climb the tower.

Sorry to hear that, but it is also quite a different thing of finding your dad already dead or seeing him pulling the trigger in front of you. Furthermore the scene in the movie was an accident. So she feels likely massively guilty causing her husbands death.
