the concept of this film seems to have been done before?:)

seems that the concept of this film has been done before in Flags of Our Fathers and Letters from Iwo Jima? Though i have to say it was really a fresh surprise for me when i found that Letters from Iwo Jima was like the twin film of Flags of Our Fathers with the concept of telling one same story from two different point of views :)

So this is simply the his/her's splicing of one central story?

I´m sorry to ask the obvious question, but does it have to do something with The Beatles?

When I first heard it announced I thought it was going to be a dramatic recreation of the song, and I was looking forward to that. This doesn't sound like that though. There probably is a reference to the song but it could be minor.

reply

No, but, like so many other films now, they have to rely on someone else's great ideas to hype up an 'eh' film.

reply

Is that a question?
You did the same with the first sentence of your post. My advice: either ask an actual question or don't use the question mark.

Doesn't really matter. Nothing is Truly original. I remember seeing Cabin in the Woods and thinking, "hey, this is Cube Zero." No one cares.

There were a pair of made-for-TV movies in the 70's starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, called "Divorce: His" and "Divorce: Hers".

"When the legend becomes fact, print the legend."
... "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance"

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL CitW being Cube Zero ahahahahahahaha that is just a dumb statement, CitW even acknowledges Cubes existence you need to know much more about horror films before watching that movie. Cabin in the Woods is one of the very few original movies and that is really hard to do, the only thing that is close to Cabin in the Woods is an episode from the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Eh, 'Cabin in the Woods' is mediocre, at best. Can't touch the original 'Evil Dead' film. Most of the horror films in the past 15 years can only startle me by having things leap out. That's not scary, it's just startles me. So many of the classic films scare me, with their disturbing stories and characters. Very 3 dimensional, unlike this newer breed. But, most young people today wouldn't know quality anything, so they're content with mediocrity.

reply

You have no idea what you are talking about... CitW also aknowledges Evil Dead, doesn't tries to copy it, there is even an evil rapist tree at some point in the film, i am sorry to say this imdb forum cliche but "you just didn't get it"

The storyline synopsis seems to remind me of Blue Valentine but without Ryan Gosling :(
