What Sort of School Was That?

One thing I didn't get when watching the movie was the type of school Eleanor and Frank attend.

It doesn't look like any normal school. There seems to be just the one class where they're laying on the floor talking about past experiences. As well, how was Eleanor able to enroll without any previous documentation or transcripts?

Was it the UK equivalent of a community college?

:) LMAO

Had me in stitches for a minute. Just watched the film, very good points!

I forgave it though, because it was interesting, not a boring/typical school. Strangely new-age-y. At first I imagined she was just "auditing" the class, but then once the revelation of her story became an issue that didn't make sense.

Who knows? Great, underrated and overlooked film however.

Yes, agree with all the points made and it's indicative of the unevenness of the storyline. I know she's introverted and may wish to quietly fit in, but why not go to a normal school. Some of the "classroom scenes" I saw, had me giggling too. She's obviously going to stick out in a place like that. Made about as much sense, as her mum still turning tricks for a living after 200 years. 🐭
