Did anyone else not like Patrick?

I don't mean to upset anyone that really liked his character but I just felt like Nina put up with so much from him and never really seemed that happy with him. Even after he died they tried to make it seem as if they had this big love but to me he was just immature and only after she told him that she might be pregnant they coincidentally got back together. I just didn't see the sparks there and didn't understand what it was about him that Nina liked so much. I think he's meant to be a Colin Firth/Mr.Darcy type of character where he is Nina's complete opposite and is broody and very forward but the character has to be charming/likeable to pull that off and I feel like Patrick just did not have that quality so he just came off as childish and immature. I understand he went through trauma with his unborn child but at the same time he seemed to view everything negatively and most of time seemed like he wanted to bring everyone down with him. I just wondered if I was the only one that didn't seem him as the love of Nina's life.
