Seriously, getting bashed over the head with a crowbar isn't a mild sedative to put you under. It's a MAJOR sedative that puts you 6 feet under ground. Just one of the many things that we are forced to swallow in this "fantasy" of Martin's.

If it was completely his fantasy, then why would he accidentally kill one of the victims, and let another one escape? Maybe it was just for the sake of the movie that stuff happened, but still, I can't help but think it's weird that not everything went according to his plan in his own fantasy.
Call it more of a daydream, where the scenario wanders along without conscious control.
