Bad ratings must be from non-Christians who can't handle it.

Because this was a very good movie. Entertaining throughout....and with a GREAT ending.

I was expecting an 'Exorcist' type of movie....but it was more like 'The Omen'....which is a good thing. Way more entertaining. I don't like the 30-minutes-straight of trying to exorcize a demon out of a girl in a bed. Thank goodness this movie doesn't have that. Instead we get a great and original ending.

Non-Christians seem to be so hung-up on anything that even remotely refers to Jesus. They can't just relax and enjoy the movie. NO WAY does this movie deserve to be rated this low. It deserves to be above 7/10 for sure. I have it as 8/10 for it's entertainment value, as well as for it's original ending.

I'm a Christian....but I'm going to a movie to be entertained. Of course things probably won't happen in this exact same way....but I wasn't offended by it. I'm not Catholic; there was Catholic stuff in this movie obviously....but the lines were blurred enough that you can imagine things in your own way. Like if the Catholics are completely correct in everything, or if just regular Christianity is better. Let your mind decide why things happened like they did.

But don't be a sour-puss and rate the movie low because you can't handle anything religious.

I have no problem with religion in movies. But this movie is bad and it deserves a low score.

As a non-Christian, I'm very happy with this movie. After all, the Antichrist won at the end. He/she also proved that Vatican and everyone around is just a bunch of liers, whose prayers won't acoomplish a thing, while curing leukemia and restoring sight to a blind person amongst other things at the same time.

And yes, I'm pretty anti-Christian, or, anti-religious generally.

I'm a Christian and I hated it. Not because I was offended, but because I found it to be a bad production and because I wasn't scared.

reply

I guess so. I wasn't scared either (although when she went up into the rafters at the end it was kinda scary). But I liked the story, especially the ending.

I'm non-Christian or any moronic religious denomination and can confidently say few non-Christians will be driven away from this film or any other purely because of the religious content as it isn't a propaganda film.

Demons are commonplace in movies & tv and alike angels, Barney The Dinosaur, exorcisms, miracles, the Pink Power Ranger, Satan & God they are fictional beings/characters and certainly have their place within the industry.

Besides if it weren't for wacky Christians we never would have been given Dogma 😋

Barney is evil and must die!

I've never seen a difference in a horror movie entity between demons, the anti-Christ, vampires, werewolves or zombies. The fun is in the particular set of rules and how they are employed.

I neither liked nor hated this movie. It was slow, unoriginal and surprisingly unscary but it had a few factors going for it. Plus Olivia Taylor Dudley was adequately displayed. A solid 'meh.' 5/10

I'm glad you enjoyed the movie. However, I don't think that the low score has anything at all to do with religious beliefs or non-beliefs. I think the movie was poor overall. I liked it in the beginning, but once the Cardinal got involved and started to perform the exorcism, the movie went downhill fast - for me.

My 2 cents.

I love some movies showing thing I do not believe in (including God), but this movie is terribly written, poorly directed and, for most of the cast, awfuly acted. Thus the low score.
