No Distributer Yet?
Seriously whats taking them so long to get a distributer?
shareIFC is distributing it in the US.
as for other countries, it takes time for indie films to get picked up. expect a uk one in the next month or so, as it screens here in 2 weeks.
"i am frank & frank must go, i good you bidevening"
It's on the French screens since last week. Are we the very first ones who can watch it in a cinema theater or what?

Yep an i *beep* hate you. I just left France for CA, hopping to see the new Araki before its french release.

C'est pas de chance/That's bad luck. Soyez patient, vous finirez bien par le voir/Be patient, you'll watch it sooner or later.
shareil y a intérêt. sinon je m'arrangerait pour kidnapper araki et exiger la parution du film en guise de rançon.
L.A. is like ... Nowhere

Fallait pas quitter la France !
Sooner or later there will be a DVD. I know, it's better in a theater (at least I think so).
En même temps, je n'ai pas vraiment l'impression que le film marche en France. Il va bientôt disparaître des écrans.

I don't know the numbers but when I went to see it in paris, the showing was sold out. I was surprised because I thought nobody knew about it. But it was a movie theater located in "le marais" so that can be an explaination ;-)
Loved it by the way! I can't wait to watch it again! I hope it won't take too long for the dvd to come out!
Anyone know if there is going to be an Australian release (either on DVD or at the cinema)?
shareI have checked Allociné for the box office figures. There was a time when the chart was much more accurate, you could check for instance the number of spectators for Paris and the number of spectators in the rest of the country.

I saw "Kaboom" in Lille two weeks ago and the theater was almost empty, but that was in the middle of the afternoon. I can understand that in "le Marais", people are certainly more receptive to "Kaboom", however in Lille, the film is doing relatively OK -- i.e. one or two weeks more and it will be taken off the only screen in Lille. I guess that's how it goes with unclassifiable films. But "Kaboom" can't compete with mainstream stuff, in spite of its qualities.
We don't have Machete or Scott Pilgrim yet, but because of Kaboom, for only once, I'm glad to be French.
shareDidn't it do well at Cannes? Maybe that is why the French responded to it more quickly. I am an American living in France, and it's funny because I've seen all of Araki's work except The Living End (which is now on Netflix streaming, although I can't access it now), and this is the first time I've ever seen one of his movies on the big screen.
