I'm glad Araki is getting attention with this movie, but at the same time, I wish it had just gone unnoticed. So tired of people raining on my parade and calling the movie *beep* I also wish Mysterious Skin never came out, even though it's a great movie. It's attracted so many dickheads to Araki, and now they're all taking *beep* because none of his movies are similiar to it.

Smiley Face was actually the first Gregg Araki movie I ever saw, and I wasn't even aware he was responsible for it. Wasn't until a couple years later when my mom showed me Nowhere that I found he was responsible.
I personally love everything he has put out. I never really noticed the hype over Nowhere though-- These days I've noticed a lot of Hipsters enjoying Mysterious Skin. It doesn't hurt that it's got teen-idol Joseph Gordon-Levitt, which has attracted a huge following. Same can be said for Thomas Dekker in Kaboom.
Anyone else suprised by how much James Duvall has aged? I was so suprised upon getting a good look at him in Kaboom.
