shareI don't think so..He was a great character but he went psychotic and had to go.
And Jon Bernthal has done better for himself since leaving..so I think he's glad.
The show has had its ups and downs but I think it went downhill completely after season 6.
It was a combination of poor writing and too many main characters lost..There just weren't enough characters people cared about left to even help it rise above the stalled storylines.
But, really.. it became so abysmal that they probably couldn't have saved it either
Agreed, season 6 is where the show started to slip. 7 is where it fell off a cliff, 8 is rock bottom, and 9 is sort of a climb back up the cliff.
shareHonestly, I'm glad they killed off Shane and Merle, I'd hate for them to be ruined by the bad writing and the repetitive character arcs, the main characters go through.
Character starts out passive, changes into a brutal, cold blooded killer because of the new world, finds hope in new innocent, naive character who sees a better world in the future, reverts back to passive, innocent character dies, main character returns to cold blooded killer, rinse and repeat.
