So ... Is Maggie part of a new TWD thread, or is she now out of the picture? ( possible spoilers )

Maggie's last mention after her encounter in the previous episode with the now pitiful and whiny Negan was last night's ( Season 9 Episode 7, Stradivarius ) pretty much non-eventful episode where they explain on the way to Hilltop that Maggie and her new baby Herschel are out galavanting with Georgie, creating a new world or some such. Is this just an excuse because Lauren Cohen wants to move on from sounding like a southern fried neanderthal throw-back with that retard accent, or is there an actual plot branch that will come out of this?

By the way, does anyone think, like me, that Negan was faking all that pitiful crying and whining just to stay alive on the chance that he can keep dreaming of getting back his empire and his Lucille? I think Maggie should have "ended" Negan ... she was right about him, and right that Rick had no right to make the decision to imprison Negan for life. It is too early in the return to civilization to start collection people in prison for life.
