Shouldn't the Zombie Apocayplse Be Over By Now???

When you think about it, the Walkers are dead. So they are dead rotting flesh that is in constant motion and in most cases outside all the time, getting nibbled on by bugs. And since they have no blood flowing, their joints and tendons are dried up and rubbing against each other until they snap, thus making walking physically impossible, and it much easier to kill them. So after a few years, there would be hardly any walkers left, and society could start rebuilding.

Well not much time has passed in the show. I think it's something like 2 years.

reply

Lol, not untill all 20 seasons have been aired.

If you ever thought they had an endgame for this series, think again.

What happens to bugs that feed on zombie flesh?

reply

Short answer...probably

This is a really good breakdown of when the Z.A. should have ended if we are assuming it is following the rules of rot and putrefaction.

The only defense that some make in light of this is that living people still die every day in the world. Therefore, new zombies get made every day.

reply

Just think Africa and everything makes sense on why bad shit keeps happening and why zombies keep getting created. :p

In theory (a) the zombies should have all rotted away long ago, (b) the people should have run out of ammo long ago, and (c) everyone should have be living in a medieval setting long ago.

how long can solar panels last without maintenance?

reply

Potentially forever if they aren't physically damaged. The power output decreases as time goes on, but it's very minimal, and there's no reason solar panels shouldn't still work 20 years later. Batteries would be the problem, in reality. Solar power would be useless without batteries to store and buffer energy, and batteries have a very limited lifespan in comparison to panels.

I have a medium-sized solar setup and the only maintenance required is lightly dusting and/or rinsing dust off the panels. Batteries, once again, are the problem... they do require maintenance, especially flooded batteries.

Yes, it should. All of these things should be so decayed and rotted now that there is not structural integrity left for them to do anything.
