Symbol on Jadis food can and opening scene

I noticed the symbol on Michonne's sword in the opening credits (has this always been there or recently added) was very similar to the symbol on the can Jadis was eating from when we first saw her in the clean bunker....any thoughts or just simple coincidence?

reply

What symbol is is? Can you describe it?

reply

It was like three crescent moon shaped symbols in a circle.

I knew I had seen it before and caught it on the opening credits one of the next episodes.

I had to google "TWD opening credits" and pause the video to see it again on Michonnes sword near the base where it meets the handle (I can only assume it is her sword).

Could just be coincidental, but just struck me as odd

reply

yeah, I'd like to see it. Could it be that on any Kitana sword that is the symbol?

reply

It is possible, I was just wondering if there were a connection, but probably not.

I didnt notice the symbol in he opening credits till the episode after the Jadis one.

I was honestly expecting to see that symbol again, either involving the helicopter or maybe later, but they could have just added that symbol to her food can just to add a symbol on it, which is odd, but could just be nothing.

Just a weird thing to specifically put onto a food can and show while she is eating from it, this isnt the type of symbol that is found on any food cans anywhere, I assumed it was to show what group represented by the symbol she had gotten the food from.

That would be cool, but how would Michonne have that ?

Could you post a link to it? I am mighty curious LOL

reply

It's a different symbol.

The symbol on the can is 3 interlocking rings.

The symbol on the sword is the triple crescent moon.

I initially thought it was the biohazard symbol when I first saw it in the credits but then thought that would be stupid.

Waning Crescent: symbolizes the expulsion of negative energy in your life, getting rid of things you know you don’t need, or those things/people/habits, etc which are harming you.

Waxing Crescent: symbolizes growth and creativity. Real general there, but it carries a broad spectrum. Use your imagination.

The Triple Crescent Moon is linked with the Fates, the three women in Greek and Roman mythology who control fate.

They control the birth, life and death of every person in existence. Each crescent moon represents one of the fates; Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos.

Birth (Clotho)
Life (Lachesis)
Death (Atropos)
That means that you have a lot of room to find your own meaning with this one. It practically encompasses your entire life.

WOWSA!!! Very interesting! Are these the symbols the OP is talking about?

reply

I think so. I haven't seen then can yet, but I looked at the sword in the intro; looks like a match to me.

Oh, thanks for the link! It's very interesting. You know it reminds me of a symbol I've seen a great deal in the medical profession ( I am a retired nurse) : biohazard

You're welcome. Biohazard was also my first thought when I watched the opening credits.
