RICK STOP BEING SO STUPID
Is it just my imagination or is Rick Grimes suffering from a terminal case of stupidity?
shareIs it just my imagination or is Rick Grimes suffering from a terminal case of stupidity?
shareNo, it's the writers.
sharenot sure wats hes thinking, maybe he thought its best to get them on their side as they didnt have enough manpower to finish the saviours?
shareWhat he did might be worth the risk if 1) the garbage people were rational (they seem to be crazy, at least the leader) and 2) he knew that they would get word soon that the Saviors were in serious trouble. Under the circumstances what he did was an idiotic gamble. They may believe that the Saviors are still a force to be reckoned with, which is basically true.
shareThat is what is so mind numbing about this show. The writing. For many seasons they are completely inept at creating drama or a suspenseful plot line that does NOT require the characters doing the stupidest, dumbest, outlandish things....over and over and over. Yeah, I'll just wander alone to this place with people that have already betrayed me to Negan, made me fight a zombie to the death and shot me. I'll just go alone and ask them for the 5th time to join my team. That's IDIOTIC! Good, well written shows and movies just work, you aren't left enraged half the time with the decisions everyone makes.
Oh yeah, they are STILL wandering off ALL THE TIME alone or in groups of two on their little whim trips, or they'll just go wandering off in the woods. You'd not go anywhere at this point in anything smaller than well armed groups of 5-10.
It is just so stupid, the writers are so freaking lame.
absolutely lame! Rick would never have done this in the early days. I'm just really getting angry. I have a real feeling that Andrew Lincoln asked to be killed off this season. The writing is just not the same.
shareI think Lincoln is going to milk this as long as he can. He is a poor actor, and definitely going to be typecast for the rest of his life to stupid action movies.
shareReally? You think he is a poor actor? I think he's great, though, I haven't seen him in anything else.
shareLearning to exaggerate a southern accent and act retarded may be a sign of a good actor, but I am skeptical. I love the guy as Rick, and I think he had good fortune to marry the daughter of Jethro Tull, but I am not impressed with the acting ability, this show is not about acting, at least for 98.5% of it.
The reason I say that is because the scripts are not written well enough to actually get to real human experiences or emotion. It is all so over the top. Walking Dead may be popular because it doesn't try to get too deep and allows the viewer to imagine the world for himself, like a book, pushing a book to a comic book, and a comic book to a TV show.
I have to ,once again, disagree. I find his early days acting on this show amazing. Case in point : remember him under the bed during Joe's Claimer's episode? I was so mesmerized and terrified for him! He's phoning it in now ,though.
shareWell said. If I had been Rick, the only way I would ever have returned to the Heapsters' compound was with an armed raiding party to eliminate them as the threat they have proven themselves to be. The Heapsters are crazy, treacherous, and sadistic, they are not neighbors with whom one could hope to coexist peacefully.
And to the comments about people wandering off all too often, I'd add that the writers are also having them get surprised way too often. When Carl went out and met Sadik, and they got attacked and Carl looked like he was about to get a bite taken out of his arm by one of the two zombies he was struggling with, I kept asking myself (in disgust) how the hell this party of zombies got close enough to surprise them. You ever walk through the woods? The ground's covered with a carpet of dead leaves. A group of zombies shuffling along, dragging their feet like they do, would have made noise you could hear coming a mile off.
These walkers were actually minding their own business eating the animal! Carl engaged them!
Carl told Siddiq to go "kill them to free their souls" as Siddiq's mother thought. I was hoping the little sh*t would get killed. I've heard rumors that he is getting killed this season because IRL the kid is starting college. Don't know if it's true though.
Yeah, Carl's little zombie party was so dumb. Aside from putting himself in such a situation, the choreography of the 'attack' was piss poor. Like a kung fu scene of multiple attackers on one fighter, you could see them waiting for their cue to 'attack' in a nice orderly fashion like they're waiting in line for their morning coffee. Not zombies with limited brain function that would just bundle and try and bite anything that's there.
The whole ninja zombie thing really winds me up. As you say, walking through woods is noisy AF. Even if you're trying to be quiet. There's all sorts of stuff on the ground that would give your position away, not to mention a shuffling zombie that wasn't even trying to be quiet. The shitty writers resort to this so often it's embarrassing.
Yep , idiotic.
shareIf I had been Rick, I would first concentrate on killing Nagen and the Saviors and then I would offer the garbage loonies the chance to surrender - or die!!!
shareYep. This was a new level of stupid.
shareFirstly, Rick has been making stupid decisions since the show started, so what's new? The writers have to keep the plot moving some how and to all those that think this has run it's course there are 1000's of us who still enjoy the show and whilst yes, we get frustrated with some of the plotlines its okay as long as its not too much of a stretch. To the guy who hasn't seen Rick Grimes in anything else. Really? Try 'Love Actually and Gangster No 1' for a start.
