Who knows what stupid ideas the writers can have, but in this case, the obvious answer is the junk yard dogs.

From what we've seen so far, I think the two most obvious inside sources for Negan have to be either the Garbage Pail People or else Quisling Gregory.

Of course, there could also be someone inside Rick's group who is a traitor, but if so, I haven't picked up on any hints who it might be yet. Of all the semi-important characters on Rick's side, I couldn't fathom a guess who might be a likely informer.

I'd rule out Dwight simply because this show tries to adhere to the comic story of TWD as much as possible, and Dwight's character transitions into someone who becomes one of Rick's group. Also, he'll be needed to help in the assault that's coming on Negan's compound.

Yep, bits 'n' pieces from moles. And Agree about Dwight. I hope they adhere to the comic. Makes much more sense, but the writers are having to fill in holes since initially Rick's groups guns weren't taken away by Negan, and the addition of the Garbage group. We shall see.......

The explosives is hard to guess, but let's just say Negan is more tactically sound than Rick predicted. The fact that Negan knew Rick was building a force due to the Garbage Pal Kids, Negan might have just been on full alert. Therefore, he combed the area carefully and found the explosives on his own. So, no mole would be necessary for that.

Explosives could be manipulated by the garbage people.

To let them know their exact plans was a very naive move by Rick.

I think the combination of Gregory, Dwight, and the garbage people all fed info to Negan. He got bits of info from many moles.
Dwight's whole spiel about wanting to help Alexandria kill Negan was all a lie. He went directly back to Negan to tell him everything he knew.

Why do you think Dwight is still loyal to Negan despite all that we've seen of Dwight. He's obviously not happy with who he is and what he has to do. He wants to be like Darryl again. I don't know why people are still skeptical that he doesn't want to be loyal to Negan any more.

That doesn't mean anything. Deep undercover cops, like the kind that investigates orgs like the KKK or outlaw biker gangs, pretend to be bad guys to sell their cover. Ever think Dwight needs to put up the front so Negan doesn't suspect him as the traitorous mole to his organization?

If you maintain your cover while watching your allies get killed, that is so deep undercover that it's almost meaningless. Was he (and Rick) and everyone just going to sit there and let Negan kill Carl? I mean, none of them knew the tiger was coming.

Yes, that's kind of the tough part of being undercover. But it comes with the territory. The only other option would be to give up his cover, and lose whatever valuable inside information he could get and provide Negans enemies. You really have to stop looking at things so 1 dimensionally.

He could have shot Negan in the head, there were dozens of opportunities to do that. He would probably get killed afterwards, but that is an ok sacrifice to make when he's already lost everything that matters. It would take Negan by surprise, and in that moment of chaos, the other Alexandrians could possibly grab guns or overpower the garbage people who were covering them.

Yes, but I think killing Negan would cause the Saviors to splinter up. I don't think there is anyone in that crew who is as smart and manipulative as Negan.

Then what value was there in Sasha killing herself? She did that hoping that her zombie self would kill Negan. She even failed in that but is still lauded as a hero. the shock of her coming out as a walker did give them a small opportunity to try and overpower the saviors. they failed but at least tried.
Surely if Dwight had actually killed Negan, that would have been a bigger shock, a bigger opportunity, and would create enough momentary chaos to possibly put up more resistance. The other Saviors would need to regroup to decide what to do next. they would not necessarily follow whoever took over. there ,might be infighting, or more than one person who thinks they should take over the Sanctuary.
A moment of chaos is all you need, sometimes. And if Negan gets shot dead, inches away from Rick, then Rick could easily pick up Negan's gun and shoot another nearby savior, etc etc.

It's also an assumption that killing Negan would not have had any effect.
Any time you claim you know what would have happened if they did something different, that's an assumption.

Good. Now that we're clear on what assumptions are. Don't use it as an argument.

Dwight even said, that once Negan is dead, they have to systematically take out all the outposts. That means, without Negan, the Saviors will still fight. That fact has been established.

Do you know what credibility means? Do you know how it's used?

When you're in court, would you listen to the opinions on forensic evidence from a plumber? Or would you rather trust the word of a professional scientist who's expertise lies in forensic evidence?

If you're a 3rd party, objective observer listening to some knucklehead idiot who knows nothing about the Saviors inner politics and workings and another who is an executive officer within the organization, who's word would you most likely trust?

If you were a 3rd party objective observer, trying to figure out how to take down the Saviors, who's word would you trust? An executive officer who has indepth knowledge of the Saviors inner politics? Or some outside observer who has very limited knowledge on how the Saviors conduct business?

It's as simple as that. But when a person is only replying to get the last word, all bets are off on how you talk to them.

Sasha killed herself so she at least wouldn't be used as a pawn to bring down her friends. Unlike Eugene, she was loyal to Rick and co. And she did help because it spurred them to fight.

Gregg....the OP wasn't asking who double-crossed Rick's group. He/She was asking who the mole was. In other words....who the informant was, who had been feeding Negan with detailed information about the uprising, the strategy, the day, the explosives, etc, etc.

The informant (mole) wasn't necessarily one of the Garbage people. It could have been anyone.
