You would think that zombies walking into a pole...

much less one extended from a tree by Carol would make you think these zombies are super fragile in general yet we keep seeing zombies that do attack the character able to withstand a push by hand. Lol... this zombie universe logic just makes me shake my head, much more on how people still die from them from all the years of experience they should've picked up by now.

I hear ya. Those zombie skulls are made of jell-o. Not only that, but their sometimes rotting/sometimes desiccated carcasses keep sprouting bigger sprays of fresh, fluid blood than a piglet in a blender would, despite their circulatory system being more inactive than the audience''s enthusiasm by now.

My wife and I, we only keep coming back to this trainwreck to enjoy JDM hamming up his performance and planting his tongue in everyone's cheek's more firmly with each scene he chews whenever the showrunners allow him to show up -not enough, by the way. it's Naked Gun-type fun for us by now, to be honest. We don't watch The Walking Dead anymore, we watch "The JDM Show" or "Leave it to Negan", as those are just a couple of the alternatives we use to refer to this dumbfest nowadays.

You'd think that they'd have a zombie scented overcoat that every character puts on before going out on a mission, with a matching hat, boots and gloves so they wouldn't even have to bother fighting them off... or have made some sort of aerated cologne that you spray all over yourself, so you wouldn't have to steep yourself in messy blood and at least apply it more neatly. But they seem to forget this simple strategy, so they are always in jeopardy. When Glenn was stuck on the dumpster, all he had to do was kill one walker, drag him on the dumpster... smear the blood on himself and he'd be safe... but that technique is too easy so they conveniently forget it or ignore it to make things more exciting.

If only, my friend, IF ONLY...

lol... if they didn't manufacture the action they have, this show would be more like watching that Viggo Mortensen film The Road. Which for me wouldn't be a bad thing because at least I cared about the characters in that one.

reply

I do care about a few -very few- of the characters in this, actually, but it's because of the quality of the work of the actors portraying 'em. Otherwise, I'd leave the tank before it reaches the precipice and drags me along with the nazi commander.

reply

Yeah it's a shame because with just a few tweaks it could be a great show. Working on the characters is the most important thing as they've already killed zombies in almost every conceivable way and combination.

but it's because of the quality of the work of the actors portraying 'em

Oh for sure!

reply

Didn't you notice the emphasis on the *very few* bit?

reply

I did indeed. I think all of the actors wit exception to the teens and Tara, are top notch. The best actor on the show is Andrew Lincoln. He is superb.

reply

Sorry, my mistake; I thought you were still on ironic mode.

Generally speaking, I think the overall acting quality on the show ranges from the pleasently competent to the excellent, but I personally wouldn't place Lincoln's amongst the latter category. Different stropes for different folks. I've been way more impressed with Karl Makinen's nuanced and moving work in the few episodes he's been in than with all of Lincoln's overacting -my subjective perception- during the whole series.

But generally speaking, the ensemble cast works indeed. If it didn't, the series would be cancelled by now.

Oh yes, this is what keeps me watching , now contrast with Fear the Walking Dead where the acting and actors are totally abysmal. There is one actor , though, playing "Nick" whom I like . I have struggled along with the show because of him.
