Season 7 has been perfect, except for one thing...
Carol! She's so annoying and pointless now. Tired of that mopping sh!t. Other than that, this has been my absolute favorite season of the whole series! #TeamNegan

shareHer character seems to have been just placed on the couch, huh? Her lines in the last episode were really annoying, and not very believeable to me knowing Carol can be a badass. The whimpering went on for too long. It was like they reverted her back to being the Carol under her husband. Cowardly, sniveling, whiney, moping. Maybe they had Daryl lie to her so they could wait to tell her amongst the whole of Rick's crew in thinking she could go all Rambo then. IDK. The writers haven't done one of my fav characters justice this season, fer sure.
shareSeason 7 has been FAR from perfect, imo, but I'm not going to get into all of that right now...
Re: your point about Carol... Yes, I agree, her character is being given the short end of the stick by the writers (again) on this show. A few seasons ago, she was exiled by Rick from the group because of killing the two sick people at the prison...and now she's self-exiled herself from the Kingdom because she can't stand killing any more.
It's redundant, and pointless, too, because it's just a matter of time before she joins the fight against Negan (once she finds out he killed Glenn and Abraham, anyway), so why is the show stringing us along with this stupid sudden attack of non-violence on her part? I'll tell you why--it's so the show can shoot cheap scenes at Carol's "house" when friends come to visit her, and they talk...and talk...and talk...and Carol stays inside the house. Yawn. I used to like Carol as a character, now my finger is quick on the fast-advance button whenever she's on screen.
I agree - I'm not loving Carol right now. Her angst is tedious. Yes, we get it, she is spent, but this should just be a respite for her.
Daryl was wrong in not telling her about Glenn and Abraham. It would have lit a fire under her, not sank her!
Exactly--Daryl may think he's sparing her grief by not telling her about Abraglen's deaths, but it should be obvious that letting her remain alone in her little cottage puts her at extreme risk with Negan's maurading sadists roaming around the area. He, more than anyone, should realize the danger of letting her remain isolated like she is now.
shareYes, and you know what the writers never REALLY explore, the danger posed to women and children via rape. They rarely "go there", yes almost with Carl and Joe's "Claimers", but barely.
shareWasn't that scene just alluding to possible rape by us, the viewers? Our 'thinking' what was going to happen. If it were introduced I'd definitely stop watching.
shareNo, I didn't get out of that, that Carol could be raped, but that she would be captured and killed or just outright killed.
shareI didn't say you did get that out of it, lennon. I'm glad it's not 'explored' by the writers. I think we all know what could really happen, beyond a 'normal' day-to-day existence. In conditions which would be exacerbated by lawlessness, violence in all its forms would rule.
Thinking back on it, Abraham's & Glen's bludgeoning shouldn't have been shown, IMO. Violence in TWD is expected, not extreme violence for shock value.

Oh come on already--this is a show about zombies ripping people apart and eating their pieces. If TWD was to shrink from showing human-on-human violence, it would (jusifiably) be accused of being pussies when it comes to showing REAL violence. Real violence IS shocking, and it's usually messy, too. If you want violence that's not extreme, maybe turn the channel over to CBS and watch one of their umpteen cop shows, where people get shot every episode and nary a drop of blood is shown.
I agree with you Sandoz. It is a violent show and IMO, need not be "watered down".
shareI think we all know what could really happen,
For sure.
Carol needs a scourging.
shareHer character got old back in Season 2, she should have died at the prison like a champ, like in the comics, instead they turned her into wonder woman who saved the crew at Terminus, which was okay, but then she did it again at Alexandria, now she's abandoned Rick's crew for her own little house in the woods--which is so stupid considering all she has been through, as now she is more vulnerable than ever.

Season 7 has been perfect, except for one thing: season 7.
It needs some scourging XD.
