Eugene is Gay

He cried

reply

He is a total coward but he is also clever enough to know how to manipulate people and he has Negan totally fooled already.

I think he will bide his time to figure out how to defeat Negan rather than side with him.

reply

I agree, except thinking he's a coward.

reply

Eugene admits he is a coward and isn't afraid to show it but being with Ricks crew has shown him a strength inside himself he never knew he had before so he will carry on being a coward up until the right moment.

reply

"Eugene admits he is a coward", but [I] don't think he's a coward.

reply

If anything, this episode proved fooling Negan it's so easy it's a wonder no one has managed to take the reins from him already. It seems the Saviors are content enough entertaining a huge baby to point out the emperor has no clothes.

I don't think Eugene it's "biding his time", but taking the coward's way out like he always has. The Wives plan was sound: take Negan out, and the rest would just tear each other apart. He wasted a precious opportunity.

reply

Eugene thinks long term. Yes he could have taken Negan out easily but then what replaces him? Better that he stays a while, learns the ropes of how things are run and who to watch out for so when it matters, they are all taken care of to dismantle the emperor's empire.

reply

I don't believe Eugene is biding his time, I think he is enjoying the power.. he has everything he could ever want there and as a self-confessed coward, why would he jeopardise that?

reply

Because he is smart enough to know that if Negan would get rid of someone as valuable as a doctor then he would get rid of him that easily also if it suited him.

reply

Not so long as he remains indispensable.. and for someone who has always been used to being looked down upon or ignored, that could be very attractive to someone like Eugene.. so much so that he might be willing to ignore his better sense.

reply

Yes, I agree. It's unclear as to Eugene's motives and sincerity to Negan. He may not even know his own motives.

reply

Eugene is smart (despite the retarded language) and knows he has to play the long game.
