Laverne (possible spoilers)

Since the beginning, it was obvious that Laverne was just a voice behind the police dispatch. Well into the first season, the very first time I watched this series ages ago...I always had this lingering feeling that Laverne was troubled and she was actually trapped inside the radio frequencies and taking emergency calls through the wiring, radios and phones inside the police station.
For me it felt confirmed in the episode "Real Estate" in Season 3. The guy trapped in the house.
The whole series, it just came to me automatically that Laverne was trapped inside dispatch and why we never saw her until the last episode.
Then, it becomes a story line for one of the last episodes. Considering all of the troubles in Haven, I don't think this would have been a bad idea to explain from the beginning why we only heard from her on the dispatch radios. IMHO, I think it fit.
Did anyone else think this about Laverne?
