Loved it but...

First off let me say I loved the series thought it was fantastic (binge watched it on netflix then caught final 13 episodes elsewhere). Overall I cannot complain about anything the series did. Most of it was fantastic and even the deaths of certain characters (wont mention as not to spoil anything) were done fantastically. Sure they were a punch in the gut but their deaths advance the story and are not done just for shock value.

Now for the only part that doesn't make sense to me and that is the change of heart of both William and Coratoan. I just don't think either really works in my humble opinion. Just because Nathan and Audrey say a few words these two completely switch direction?

Croatoan, Audrey's dad, finally had to give up getting the love he expected from his daughter, Mara, to come out of Audrey. No matter what he did, he couldn't break that love apart. Don't forget Mara would do anything for daddy. He surrendered because he had no choice.

The only way William gave up because he accepted Mara's death. Going to our world would mean his death because I believe that 'connection' he had was only with Mara but she gone forever. He knew he lost but saw Nathan fighting for his home world and let him go. Nathan gave him the ring because he knew William didn't deserve to be in the void.

I wonder if they have life in prison there? That is a very.long time for them.

Their changes of heart felt week to me too. The writers were in a corner and had to end the show. I could understand if Shatner's character cared for Audrey or at least grew to, but the only signs of this was indeed sudden.

I kinda agree with you about William and that didn't really make any sense to me either and felt like the writers did it as a way to write him off 'cause they knew the show was coming to an end but Coratoan was Audrey's father and loved her in his own way so I think it made sense that he changed when he saw how much she cared about Nathan and how she didn't want him to follow through with his plans.

Yea it was weak for sure i mean here were the two big bads just giving up just like that. I was disappointed in tge reveal of how why tge troubles were created began abd thought William took away instead of adding to the show. But thats just me. Still my favorite show ever, and it was coming to an end so the writers rushed tge ending

Yeah, that was my only complaint about the final season. I liked the character of William a lot and was hoping to see him quite a bit in the final season but didn't get that either.

I had the exact same feeling, about both William and Croatoan. Everything was so sudden, and the worst part for me was accepting Duke's death (one of the best characters of the show IMO), it felt like it meant absolutely nothing. If he had left all the troubles go to Croatoan he would probably still change his mind just as easily, and Duke would still be alive. Such a shame, it's a weak ending for a great show.
