Why is Melanie so reluctant to tell her people she's still in there?
I thought it would have cleared up all the tension if she'd found a way to prove she still exists.
...then whoa, differences...
They would have thought Wanda was lying and it would have taken longer for them to trust her, if ever. They would have seen it as a way to manipulate them into going easier on her, thus making it easier for her to betray them in the end.
At that point in time they weren't aware that it was possible for both the host and the parasite to exist within the one body. Or even that they could co-exist, such as Wanda and Melanie were doing.

That makes sense, I was thinking of it in terms of 'ask me something only I would know', but if the alien has access to all your memories that's not gonna work.
