What's the status of Sherlock Holmes 3?

It's been dead silent for many months regarding a third film.

And it's been over a year since the last update, surely it's been written now.

At least give it a release date, come on!

Does anyone know what's the status?

not many news around sadly...having RDJ, Ritchie and the main writer with a busy schedule I wouldn't expect it before 2015

Well there was this recent interview, it sounds like they're planning on it at least:

“We like BIG movies,” Downey says of Team Downey, which he runs with producer wife Susan (Levin) Downey. “We are working on a Sherlock Holmes 3,” he says, without providing details.

What does that prove? Are they getting a release date anytime soon? What about production?

There was a rumor that it was gonna take place in the Old West. But right now, Dexter Fletcher (RocketMan) is attached as director.
