No mention of remake?
Seeing as the release date for this documentary was 2010, the same year as the remake, how come there is no mention? It must have been in production/development at the same time as this was made.

shareA couple of years back I saw a clip from what I think is this documentary where some of the cast and crew members from all the past NOES films talked briefly about the remake and most were not happy about it. Not that they had actually seen it( It was released before the movie came out) they were just upset that somebody was re-doing the property. However, both Robert Englund and Heather Langenkamp were good sports about the remake, Englund acknowledged that Hollywood is a business and as long as their is a demand for any particular movie character be it Freddy, Riggs & Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon, or John McClane from Die Hard then new movies should be made, be it reimagingings or sequels( Something like that). Langenkamp gave her best wishes to Rooney Mara playing Nancy.
I have an unbelievably long ignore list.

You probably have an "unbelievably long ignore list" because you post dumb *beep* like this and people call you on it. The documentary was released 5 days after the remake. So unless it took 5 days to film, edit, cut and press the DVDs, there is no way that you saw footage from these interviews of them discussing the remake. Secondly, Wes Craven/New Line more than likely still hold the property/intellectual rights to NOES and the Freddy Krueger character, so someone in that circle would have to sign off on something one way or another. Furthermore, Wes Craven publicly expressed his displeasure of the remake citing that they did not consult him about the film as he was with The Last House on the Left remake. It is people like you, offering up misinformed/made up snippets of information who are making people dumber with each passing day. So do us all a favor and engage in a bit of research before posting your nonsense. Might make that ignore list a bit smaller. Glad I could provide some real information rather than the fountain of gibberish you have provided. t(-.-t)
Calm down, I saw the clip on Youtube after the remake came out, and it was a couple of years ago so cut me some slack if I can't remember every single little detail about it. Also, in the clip none of the people who discussed the remake had seen it they were expressing their early impressions about their being one. Another thing, it's probably a good idea to reply to MY post than to the OP, m'kay?
I have an unbelievably long ignore list.
On the second disc, there is a scene where they talk about the remake. Bob and Wes pretty much sound depressed while talking about it. The only one with anything positive to say is Robert Englund. Bob Shaye was quick to announce that even though he has a producer credit, he literally had nothing to do with the film.

TNOES remake is rubbish.
I am happy that there is no mention of the remake in this doc because (The remake) it just do not belong in the same category as the originals.
Even Part 2 that I like the less out of the original films is a lot of fun compared to the remake.
Wes sounded depressed talking about every one except the two he did. He kept making his cash cow comments, and I have to agree with him overall.
I only have the first and 7th film in my movie collection, But I still appreciated the remake as it was less cartoony than the original which was what I loved about New Nightmare. And by cartoony I mean moments like the stretched out arms that people agreed look ridiculous. I'm so glad all my issues with the films were pointed out by the people who did them. So many die hard fans defend every little thing that just isn't worth defending. There is just no point having these back and forth arguments with such people, and it's nice the doc just layed out all the issues. You can't argue with them that they didn't get it right.
The remake: I liked how there was no glossing over the child predator back story too. It was there and it was in your face and these kids were really connected to the original crimes that Freddy got burnt for. I think the original missed that opportunity to see the victims of Freddy be his unfinished business. It's a bigger slap in the face of the parents as well, which reminds me of the first episode of the Freddy tv show.
Do you have a link by chance? I tried to find it on YouTube but couldn't.
shareOh my gosh. Watch NSA again and watch the interviews section of the DVD release. They talk about the remake. But it was only a brief sequence.
