So nonchalant about killing people, was she a mercenary for a while and had killed people before?

PS the scene at her dads house where she picks up one of the guys she knocked out and puts his neck on the bathtub edge and steps on it really disturbing.

You're missing the point. If if she was a marine she still would have never faced combat, at least not intentionally. Basic training only goes so far.
