it's pretty awesome that king george vi is the royal baby's (the prince of cambridge's) great-great-grandfather! george vi was handsome and had dignity and fortitude. i hope the new little fellow is like him!! too bad his grandson (prince charles) is a bit of a disappointment, but prince william (and prince harry as well) seem to be noble and honorable.
Yeah but youre not royal, so nobody cares. Op, i think its interesting.
thanks! and exactly!! no disrespect to any of our families, but let's face it: royal lineage is well-known and people pay attention. i'm excited that the little guy has his great-great-grandpa's namesake! i think that's a good sign. hopefully he'll have his honor and nobility of character when he grows up!!

Being well known doesn't make basic logic any more remarkable. By the way, the baby doesn't have the same name as his great-great-grandfather. Even if his g-g-grandfather's name was actually George, does that mean that it's a good sign for any baby to named George?
What else could They Name Him, but, George? All the other Male English Monarchs Names were currently taken. Baby Cambridge may have the same Name as His Great-Great Granddad, but the late George VI's real Name was Albert. Let's hope this new addition George, doesn't turn out like Mad King George.
Why should the logical progression of being the great-great-grandson of your great-great-grandfather be any more remarkable because you're royalty.
Why not say the same about any mundane fact that's common to all babies; isn't it cool that the royal baby can't walk or talk or help itself? isn't it cool that the royal baby's mother shít herself during labour?"
I think it is more interesting that Queen Victoria was the grandmother of King George V of Great Britain, Kaiser Wilhlem II of Germany, and Tsarina Alexandria of Russia - all of whom ended up fighting each other in World War I.
And for good measure - she is also the grandmother to Queen Sophia of Greece, Queen Maud of Norway, Queen Marie of Romania, Queen Margaret of Sweden, and Queen Victoria Eugenie of Spain.
too bad his grandson (prince charles) is a bit of a disappointment, but prince william seem to be noble and honorable.
Are you insane? Prince William and his wife barely do any public engagements, by either cancelling or postponing duties, and jobs for "transitional period". One minute they live in Wales where William is a search and rescue helicopter, the next they live at Kensington Palace to do more royal duties, then they move to Norfolk for a "transitional" period for a different job.
Prince Harry is surely the most likeable of the lot but even he did drugs and slept around. One minute he's a full time royal, then he's in the army, then he leaves the army all of a sudden to do more royal engagements.
Prince Charles and his wife seem to be the one of the only ones taking their positions seriously.

well, charles is prince of wales so more is expected of him. When william is prince of wales, he will be expected to take on more royal duties. for the time being, i see no harm in him doing less in the way of public appearances. Let him have a bit of family life while he can.
