Best Scene

So which scene do you think was best?

I think my favorite was the one where Bertie plays the record of Hamlet's Soliloquy and his wife walks in.

What was so amazing about that scene is to think that once her husband had a voice that had the potential to be strong and confident but the harshness of his upbringing quenched that strength that she, her children and the Empire needed. But at that moment she heard her husband's true voice for the first time. And she loved him. Great scene.

I liked the scene where he felt overwhelmed by all the letters and memos he was reading, and breaking down and asking his wife if being made king was such a mistake. She comforted him, almost as if saying, "we're all here with you, and we will all help you".

My favorite scene was when the King made his speech to the nation and Beethoven's Symphony number 7 was playing in the background; such a powerful scene!!!!

Yeah, that was a great scene, you could just feel the pride the people and his family must have felt - and of course that Lionel felt.

That scene and when Logue is sitting on the throne and he yells "I have a voice!" - such chills I got.

What a wonderful movie.

Wendy? Darling? Light, of my life!

This. When I saw the movie in the theater, the people around me burst into applause when he yelled that. I remember whispering, "Bravo."

Honorable Mention (because I just rewatched the movie a couple days ago):

When the royal family is watching the newsreel of the coronation, and the clip of Hitler comes on.
Princess Elizabeth: Papa, what's that man saying?
George: I don't know, but he seems to be saying it rather well.

reply

"Sing it."

"..nd she wouldn't feed me. Far, far away.."

It was a pretty powerful scene, in my opinion.
