This Movie Makes No Fucking Sense

1. Why is Michael so desperate to kill Laurie even after spending 40 years in prison? They're no longer related so why is Laurie so special to Mike? And how does Laurie know Michael would come back for her even though Michael was supposed to spend the rest of his life in prison?

2. How does Michael know exactly where to find the 2 journalists so quickly right after he escaped the bus?

3. How tf does Michael kill people in public places in daylight and not get caught?

4. How does Michael walk inside people's houses so easily? Do people not lock their own doors in this universe?

5. After Michael kills the blonde babysitter who was watching the black kid, how does Michael outrun a cop when Michael wasn't even running?

6. Michael gets shot in the neck, in the hand, in the shoulder, gets stabbed in the back, and gets hit by a car but he's still standing. How is that possible? I thought the writers wanted to make Michael more human than in the older movies.

7. After Laurie shoots Michael's hand, how does Michael have the time to drag Ray's body back inside the house a few minutes after Michael killed Ray and no one notices Michael?

8. This is mentioned in the original Halloween but was never addressed, how does Michael know how to drive when he has spent almost his entire life in prison?

People are giving this movie way too much credit. I do like the music for this movie, but the movie itself is just mediocre.

I think with the entire Halloween franchise, you have to suspend belief throw logic out the window and enjoy MM going beserk

Welcome to slasher movies.

If a plot is entertaining, no need to sweat the detail.

reply

yea, if only it was entertaining instead of tedious and clunky

reply

Mediocre is a great word for it. And that's a shame because JLC is acting her tits off and that opening scene in the hospital was pretty creepy.

reply

It was okay, I didn't live up to all the hype it got. Its not as good as Halloween, Halloween 2, Halloween 4, or H20. But its better than Zombie's remakes, Halloween 5, 6, or Resurrection.

reply

I rather liked it and put it probably behind H1, 2, and 3. However, I'm biased to those!

"2. How does Michael know exactly where to find the 2 journalists so quickly right after he escaped the bus?"

Honestly this one annoyed me the most.. those two characters were of zero importance post-opening sequence.. so why were they even given a chance for a second encounter. wow

He was at the cemetery and followed them from there - we see him behind a tree. The plot 'needed' them to bring back the mask.

I agree with your last sentence, but am watching it again after seeing it in the theater when it came out.

There is some connection between Michael and Laurie as the man journalist explained in the beginning. Myers may have created another monster in Laurie, i.e. she has gone looney tunes, too, and we see that in her relationship with her daughter and husband, but her granddaughter feels for her.

2. How does Michael know exactly where to find the 2 journalists so quickly right after he escaped the bus?

I can only guess he has some kind of spiritual connection with the mask and becomes the boogeyman.

3. How tf does Michael kill people in public places in daylight and not get caught?

No explanation. He's not easy to catch with the mask on.

4. How does Michael walk inside people's houses so easily? Do people not lock their own doors in this universe?

No explanation.

5. After Michael kills the blonde babysitter who was watching the black kid, how does Michael outrun a cop when Michael wasn't even running?

No explanation.

6. Michael gets shot in the neck, in the hand, in the shoulder, gets stabbed in the back, and gets hit by a car but he's still standing. How is that possible? I thought the writers wanted to make Michael more human than in the older movies.

He's the boogeyman. Some kind of supernatural evil with the mask on.

7. After Laurie shoots Michael's hand, how does Michael have the time to drag Ray's body back inside the house a few minutes after Michael killed Ray and no one notices Michael?

No explanation.

8. This is mentioned in the original Halloween but was never addressed, how does Michael know how to drive?

Deleted scene in orig H lol. https://www.firstshowing.net/2012/how-the-hell-did-michael-myers-learn-to-drive-a-car-in-halloween/

Michael clearly holds a grudge after Laurie helped him be defeated.
