Was there a reference to every other Halloween movie?
I noticed Laurie having a drinking problem seemed to be a reference to Halloween H20.
Were there any other references you noticed to the earlier movies?

I've thought this too, let's try to find at least one for each of the others.
I'm tired as I type this, so forgive me ones I miss, not going to overthink, and only going to do one for each ;)
Original: fate scene, when Allyson is in class
II: When he's wandering around the neighborhood and steals a knife
III: Masks are shown in one scene
4: gas station
5
6:
H20: alcohol as you mentioned, and bathroom
Resurrection:
remake:
2: the bus crash and subsequent pick-up truck scene
add on everyone
No Busta Rhymes cameo as a shoutout for Resurrection?
shareno replies please...
shareOriginal: fate scene, when Allyson is in class, and the obvious archive footage of judith's death
II: When he's wandering around the neighborhood and steals a knife (yes, but to expound on this, we have the kid with the boom box running into michael (literally), Ms. Elrod (making the ham sandwich with mayo and mustard on the counter, with michael stealing her knife), and the drunk kid in the dude's yard (who gets hung from the fence post) calling michael "mr. elrod"
III: Masks are shown in one scene
4: gas station layout and ice machine
5
6: (SPOILERS)
the doctor's betrayal reminded me immediately of the cult of thorn protecting michael
H20: alcohol as you mentioned, and bathroom scene
Resurrection: truck at the gas station said it was from resurrection church, or something like that
remake: aged mask
2: the bus crash and subsequent pick-up truck scene
I may list some of those mentioned already but oh well...
Original: there are numerous references to it that it deserves its own thread.
II: Michael lurking around the neighborhood and going into that poor woman’s home. “Harold, do you want Mayonnaise on your sandwich?” Lol. Michael bumps into a boy with a boombox. Also the fiery finale with Michael “possibly” burning.
III: Kids are seen wearing the Silver Shamrock masks when Laurie arrives and tells everyone to go.
4: The gas station scene. The gas station itself almost looks like a recreation of the one in H4. On top of that, Allyson’s boyfriend cheating on her was like Brady and Rachel all over again.
5: Officer Francis and Richard. The two cops bickering about their food was just like watching the two bonehead officers from Halloween 5. A clear nod. What’s more, Allyson’s friend, Oscar, wore a very similar Halloween costume to Samantha from 5.
Curse of MM: Michael’s new psychologist, Dr. Sartain, turning out to be evil (it came out of nowhere) a la Terence Wynn. Both docs had similar motives and Sartain, like Wynn, is said to be the one who set Michael free in the first place. Another 5-6 reference is something you can catch even in the trailer... when Dana is on the toilet, on the stall you can see there’s graffiti that includes the Mark of Thorn. U gotta look closely.
H20: Obvs the encounter with Michael in the filthy restroom. As for Laurie’s drinking in this film, I don’t know if it was meant to be a direct reference to H20. It is only natural that her character developed a drinking problem after her trauma. Yes, it could have very well been a reference.... but the restroom scene is one that I’m positive was intentional.
There’s probably more.
And lastly, this is unrelated to the previous movies, but I gotta say I LOVED the fact that Repo Man (1984) was playing when Vicky was babysitting.
