to those that have seen it ..is it trash or not
Be honest.. read some negative reviews
shareJust seen it at the cinema (I have my ticket to prove it) and it's close to being trash. The scenes with Michael were great and well executed, but the third half reeked of feminism. 4/10
sharePlus showing so many pivotal moments in the trailer ....
shareThe trailer was pretty much the movie, but that was obvious in a way. I don't like mindless gore, but even the killings were weak and the majority off screen. A perfect blend of tension and gore but in scarce amounts would make the ideal slasher movie, don't feel it was accomplished here.

I really enjoyed it.
That was the best Michael Myers since 1981. The mask is perfect. Some of the images that they capture in this movie are just awesome.
The atmosphere was great, it felt like Halloween.
Jamie Lee Curtis kills it. I love the arc that they set up between her and her daughter and grand daughter.
I love the call backs to the other films that they put in, especially the one at the end.
The negatives:
I didn't like the pace. While the original has a slow burn quality to it, this one just rushes like crazy. You don't really get to spend enough time with Laurie and her daughter (Judy Greer, who is really great, but doesn't get a lot of screen time), and grand daughter. The trauma and PTSD aspect of surviving a night like Laurie did is pretty interesting, but you don't really get enough time to digest it before the Halloween night chaos starts. I think they could've added a few more scenes to show just how screwed up Laurie and her family relationship is.
I also didn't like how casual the cops were acting. It's almost like they knew it was just a movie, and acted accordingly.
Overall, I really enjoyed it, so it was definitely not trash. If you want trash, I suggest you go back and watch Resurrection, or either of Rob Zombie's offerings.
Definitely not trash. It was good, but not great. I would rate it 7/10.
shareSaw it at the 40 Years of Terror Convention last week. It was good, not great, but certainly better than Rob Zombie's efforts and Halloween 5. It had Friday the 13th style gore and dialogue but not a lot of suspense and a stupid plot twist that is swept quickly under the rug. Saw it for a second time last night, opinion hasn't changed much. John Carpenter's score is great. Overall, not as good as the reviews and trailer hype it up to be.
sharetrash!most of the kills are offscreen!
shareI refuse to see it because its laughable that the film industry wants us to think Myers is still alive and going after his sister. That ship has sailed man. Im sorry. Strode should have been killed in part 2 for sure but really at the end of part 1 and the story should have ended.
