This is going to make stupid amounts of money

Its super low budget. It actually looks good. Gritty, Hardcore... like a proper apology for all the past shitty sequels. And it feels like a proper event film. I'm stoked

Same, I am not a big fan of the franchise but this looks really good. It could potentially revive the slasher franchise. Maybe we will get that Friday the 13th movie written by Nick Antosca which was an amazing script.

Yeah...looking forward to a geriatric Michael Myers chasing down teenagers while limping along with a walker.

And in the background at the “Nursing Home for the Criminally Insane”: Freddy Krueger playing shuffleboard with Jason Voorhees while taking deep breaths from their portable oxygen tanks.

OMG. You are onto something the Slasher Universe.

Physically I would find a 70 year Arnold more threatening than the original Michael Myers.

reply

I thinK Michael would be 61? He was born in 1957.

I had kind of the opposite reaction. I feel this will probably end up being not as good as some of the sequels its replacing. Laurie Strode as Sarah Conner not impressing me much. Though i do like the mask.

reply

Partly agree.

Laurie Strode is no Sarah Connor OR Ellen Ripley.

Characters idiot Hollywood forgot we MEN took to with relish.

👍

I agree with you, although I’m not a fan of the Mask.

I agree I’m really excited for this.

As it should! :) Hopefully it WILL be the Halloween sequel a lot of us have been waiting to see forever. It all looks very impressive so far.

Although I find *most* of the sequels decent to good, I’d be lying if I said that even the better ones truly lived up to Carpenter’s classic. The trailer for this film, though it appears to contain elements we’ve seen in past sequels (McBride did say there would be easter eggs to the previous movies), seems like it packs everything that could make this the proper Halloween & Michael Myers film. Sure, trailers are naturally meant to pull you in, but this one in particular gives the perfect sense of dread; the tension and atmosphere looks ideal. And more importantly, Michael’s chilling presence 100% harkens back to the original.

However it turns out, the trailer has me fired up! I’ve been looking forward to this film ever since it was first announced.

I dislike all the remakes and crap horror has given us for the last 20/30 years but this might be different. It pains me to say that for some reason. The original is the star everything else orbited around and it's sequel made the flaw of connecting Laurie to Michael.
