Right now, it is marketed as a sequel to the original, but if this movie does well, you'll be seeing Halloween 2 (2020)

I guess kind of like how The Town That Dreaded Sundown did. It was kind of a reboot and a sequel at the same time.

I know this is heavily marketed as a sequel. But maybe its been that long that they know most listing will say Halloween (2018).

Having said all that. I did also read that Halloween is just a working sort of title and that they will change it nearer to the release date

It's a remake that has to be a sequel because they have to bring back the original actors aged 40 years to even have a chance to make money because Danny Mcbride is a hack

Same thing happened with The Thing and its prequel of the same name. Its not a big deal

They should change the title 2 Halloween MICHAEL VS. LAURIE.
