Wish they'd include this in the retcon, but I get it. H20 was initially (yet again) supposed to be "the end." There's no way to successfully retcon that ending, which is sucky, since the rest of the movie is pretty decent.

shareIgnoring all the sequels means ignoring all the sequels. That’s what McBride and Carpenter want, and that’s a great and refreshing thing for the series.
H20 is one of the better sequels, but it had potential to be something better, and if they feel like they can make a more proper and worthy conclusion to the original, then more power to them. Everything I’m hearing about Halloween 2018 sounds awesome.
This is just a remake of H20 but it's H40 and they have the audicity to tell us it's the only true sequel when it's nothing but a 40th Reunion Special
