....was played by, say, Melissa McCarthy or a plain Jane actress? Because his fiancee is almost as hot as Jennifer Aniston so it would be funnier if he's just not turned on by conventionally hot women!

I think that would have worked well. Even if he was turned on by hot women, he was just that in love and true to his fiance (which was awesome either way).
