Hoarders: Where are they now?

Don't know if you all saw the preview for this Sunday's episode but I am stoked!

I watched it yesterday, and didn't delete it because I'm going to watch it again. I was really glad to see updates on Jill and Alan in particular, both of whom I'd wondered about. And they're both doing GREAT!

During Dale's segment, I did not recognize Dr Elizabeth Moore. At all. 

Was Alan the hoarder who had his son Frankie taken by CPS? I wondered what finally got through to him? He seems to really be doing well but I wonder he started taking antidepressants ? The change seemed to be so dramatic.

Yes, that was Alan. It was the County Inspector, Paul, who initiated CPS coming and taking Frankie away. As for what finally got through to Alan, who knows? Perhaps a combination of things. At the one-year followup visit, Cory pretty much laid it all on the table, saying he couldn't understand WHAT in all that stuff was MORE IMPORTANT than Frankie. Plus, Paul apparently continued coming over, forming a bond with Al, and encouraging him. Perhaps Al finally dealt with the grief from losing his wife. Maybe he's in therapy and/or on antidepressants. At any rate, I was very impressed to see what he's done. The sad news, at the end of his segment, that Paul had died after a battle with cancer, was sad, but it looks like they ended up being great friends.

Seeing little Frankie running around Al's formerly hoarded house was the best ending on Hoarders so far. I'm glad Paul got to come by one more time to see the family he helped save from a hoard.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
