He's coming back!

TVLine says Eyal is coming back for at least 1 episode. I was thinking I might skip this season but now I'll stick it out. He better be back for more than 3 minutes like last time. I'm hoping "at least" really means many episodes.
And predictions or reactions about Eyal's return?

reply

What's the big deal about Eyal? He's a very minor character. At some point they're going to kill him off. They always do that with minor characters. He'll probably go out a hero. Maybe he'll die saving Annie's life. I hope it's soon, I'm tired if all this hoopla about him.

reply

Wow you are the first person I have heard that is not excited about Eyal coming back. I knew there had to be one of you out there.

reply

Make that two.

Yay! Although I wish he returns to be a Mossad agent.

Awesome! I love Eyal. He and Annie have great chemistry. I stopped watching midway through last season. I got very bored and wasn't sure if I was going to keep watching. If Eyal will be back, I guess I'll give it a go. Thanks for the info, OP!

flmngogirl, you have more willpower than I do. I really feel to stop watching, but I hate to leave anything unfinished, that's why I'm still hanging on. But I wish they'd put us out of our misery and end it like they did with Drop Dead Diva. It's not going anywhere, and is boring me with this badass Annie, who doesn't like to share secrets, but always wants everybody else to spill their guts. Plus, I find that sometimes she puts people in danger and they get killed unnecessarily, while obviously, she always gets away.

Tired of it and there are so many other interesting shows on now, I feel like I can take a break from this one. Sorry Piper Perabo. I do love you as an actress. lol

He is back at Mossad. He told Annie that when he "brought her back to life" in Season 4.

oh? I thought he resigned earlier on. Have to watch that again.

Great news. There's never been a character on the show that Annie works with who always has her back and isn't paid for it (like Auggie is).

He admires and takes care of Annie unconditionally at all times. This cannot be said for all the colleagues in her life.

I suspect they will bring him back for another cameo or small action, because he's so popular with a lot of the fans. And it's just great anytime we see him and Annie doing their "chemistry" thing together and with him grinning at her knowingly but mysteriously at the same time.

He's also a character who still retains a lot of mystery about him, which is always good and keeps things interesting. We've never fully known what his deal is, and he keeps us guessing.

I'm hoping that the writers are keeping him in like this with small contacts, so at the end, when it's the end of the road for Annie in spyville and she decides to call it quits, the last scene we ever see is her on a beach.

The shot will be a close up of her, in her bikini, sunglasses on, lounging on the sand. Then the camera will pull back to see Eyal next to her, lying on the beach with her.

And he'll look over and say, "I told you, Neshema. The BEACHES....(smirk)...are better in Isreal."

Fade to black. She ends up with Eyal, and is able to salvage something good from her spy life. After all, she can't spend the rest of her life with just anybody. It has to be somebody who understands, as well as being "safe" for her to be with. (Not that the CIA would see that as safe for an ex-operative, taking up romantically with Israeli intelligence! hahaha!).

But it's these two--maybe they'll live under the radar. But together. Happy.

That may be why they are keeping him on the show in the background. Because he's the end game for Annie!

Hope springs. :-)

paradesend: You and I think so much alike. That's pretty much how I see it.

Love Eyal. He's such a great character (and Oded plays him so well.

They have some great intimate moments together. And,yes, there is that killer chemistry as well....

reply

Oh, I love Eyal so, so much. I love Oded since his The Mummy days and Eyal is more than yummy all around. If this episode proved something is that how two people of the opposite of sex can trust each other and can always count on each other without ever having romantic feelings. Well, Annie can count on Eyal, we have yet to see the reverse scenario.

Eyal has shown nothing but friendship and their chemistry yells protege more than anything else. And I wanted to hit Annie over the head with a pan: listen to him, he knows what he's talking about! Gah.

reply

Very nicely written, paradesend! I second your motion and concur with jagalskardej.

I am definitely w/you on the show ending just like how you described it!!

I adore Eyal and he's so damn sexy to look at as well!! The chemistry b/w Annie and Eyal is off the charts FANTASTIC! I believe their is "underlying" romantic feelings that comes off from both of them. Their is no denying it; I just love the way he is always there to help Annie, he really cares so deeply for her and she does for him. They have such great flirtatious, intimate moments w/each other that I just love to watch when they share a scene together. No denying it people :)

After the first season some years ago I wrote that the end game for Annie (now especially that she's got a heart problem) would be her and Eyal with their own security company, or high level international investigations company they form as a couple, or married couple.

It's got spin off possibilities! Annie and Eyal on his boat, her in her tiny bikini and him looking cool as usual discussing their next field job for pay as they cruise around the Mediterranean.

She doesn't want to give up field work and it's her life? Okay. So just leave the Agency with a health problem; form a firm with Eyal and go for it. Ryan proves there's enough work to go around. And with Eyal's contacts and hers combined? They'd have an amazing business.

With this heart problem the clock is ticking for her as an operative. (Though as Eyal told her, Avram said her heart could be operated on but she didn't want to take that chance. So there IS the notion that her problem can be healed.)

But then even so she'd probably never pass the Agency physical again. But her own business with Eyal? As a couple? Great.

Besides, Annie needs Eyal. He's the only one who can talk sense to the woman. The rest of the men around her always give in to her and that's not good for her.

She needs "adult supervision." Between Eyal and his formidable mom, maybe they could keep Annie from getting into trouble all the time, ha.

reply

paradesend -- I just love that idea; I also would love for her to get the operation and everything goes well, she's in good shape but leaves the Agency and does EXACTLY EVERYTHING YOU POSTED :) I CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF EYAL, AND I JUST LOVE ANNIE/EYAL SCENES TOGETHER - THEY SIZZLE! I LOVE THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER AND HE IS THE ONLY ONE MAN IN HER LIFE WHO CAN TALK SENSE INTO HER!!!

reply

Yes! She sits still while Eyal tries to talk sense to her, which is once step above anybody else in her life!

My favorite lately was when he quoted the Torah and she said "huh?" And he quipped this was important enough to bring out the Big Guns.

It always seemed they had great scenes together, but yesterday it was driven home when I happened to watch a video on YouTube put together very nicely by someone (thank you!) with a song.

When all of their flirty scenes and serious scenes are strung together like that in under 3:50 minutes, you really do see the way it's been played by both actors.

It's hard to fake chemistry on screen isn't it? It either is or isn't. And in some scenes you can almost see Piper trying not to laugh out loud when he's doing one of his Eyal schticks. She looks in some scenes like Annie just adores him. haha

One of the cutest to me was when she arrived in Israel and is coming out of the airport looking cute as a bug as a rug in her little sundress, and she looked over and Eyal is holding one of those white airport driver signs with "Neshema" on it in English and Hebrew.

And she just cracks up with a huge smile, and Pipe plays it so cute, because she was not expecting him to be there.* As they walk away happy together, she just puts a hand on his arm in a really intimate gesture. Great acting subtleties. And of course he does what we know recognize as "The Eyal Eyes" at her.

We recently watched "Sleeper Cell" in my house and I found it hard to get through! Eyal as a Saudi terrorist? Mon dieu!

*And yes, another Eyal attempted "save" going on there, too! She was then involved with dodgy Simon, and Eyal was probably showing up to try to protect his relationship with Annie; but it also seemed he was doing it in her best interest by providing Mossad's file on Simon. Dual motivations there, Eyal?

reply

Oded also plays a Syrian traitorous military/government guy in Inescapable (great film!). He lets his friend take the fall for an act of treason that he perpetrated, leading to the friend fleeing to the USA for decades (comes back to look for his kidnapped daughter).

reply

He did. He was framed for editing that photo when it was really Mossad that did it. They wanted him to remain an agent, but to take the blame for it. He resigned at that point and he helped Annie get out of the situation with Khalid Ansari. He told her he was going to go live on a boat on some private island. However, when he brought her back to life in Season 4, he handed her a folder from Mossad and she asked him what happened to him retiring and he says that Mossad got to him before he left and he went back to Mossad. Hope that helps :)

I love the way he interacts with Annie. I also love the way he just pops up from time to time. Personally, I hope he sticks around for a while this time.
