Brink in the Clouds Season 5 Episode 7 ( Spoiler-'Plot Hole'?)

I'm no military expert so I could be way off on this. The media and the military have always reported that the main advantage of drones was stealth. In other words our enemies cannot see or hear them until it's too late. So am I wrong in suggesting that Annie Walker and company should not have heard the drone approach before it fired it's missile? They would have had very little time to bug out? Am I completetly off base or what?

That's just my two cents.

Dunno about stealth, but I know one major reason for drone usage is the lack of bodily harm to its pilot, who sits in front of a computer screen somewhere far away.

Bones had an episode with a similar embellishment, wherein the girls of a school in a village heard the hijacked drone approaching.

Based on these two anecdotal samples, I'm thinking artistic license to add drama to a cold heartless situation.

I remember when the series started they advertised that they had some of the original creative people from 24. It explained why so many actors from 24 ended up on CV. (It also explained the main character's name being identical to a 24 character. )However I've since noticed that Piper Perabo is a producer. Would that explain the major style and plot changes and the groans from long time fans not to mention the shrinking ratings?

That's just my two cents.

Afghan / Pak reporting says lots about drone noises -- air whoosh, humming -- terrain has to be quiet, they can't be heard over cities. Bourne Legacy has some pretty good scenes dealing with that: the two experienced agents in the quiet mountain cabin pick up the sounds & sensations clearly. Military "stealth" refers more to instrument detection -- radar, sonar, those flat panels which deflect pings away -- than to noise, I think.

Thanks.

That's just my two cents.
