The Mole

ok, so in s05e06 we learn that there it's a mole in McQuaid's organization- anyone else thinks it's Caitlyn?
It may be because I don't want her so close to Arthur but when Annie asked McQuaid "Did you find him yet?" the first thing that came to mind was I bet it's a her not a him.

reply

We only know three people in McQuaid's organization. McQuaid, Arthur, and Caitlyn. We know Arthur's not the mole. They have gone to extreme lengths to show that McQuaid's not a traitor. So that leaves Caitlyn, unless they are going to introduce more members of McQuaid's company to spread suspicion.

reply

I tweeted last night that I believe the "him" is actually a "her" - and the only "her" [so far] is Catlyn.

That's exactly what I was thinking. It also seemed suspicious to me that her man at the border mysteriously vanished at the precise moment Annie and McQuaid were trying to get through.

reply

yep.

Just finished catching up and had the same thoughts.

It's also probably her responsible for Chicago and the other terrorist stuff, working the vicious cycle.

That's what I'm starting to think that she is not only the mole but the mastermind behind everything

It's Caitlyn.

Yep, it's Caitlyn.

I've been in the Caitlyn as Mole camp since the beginning, when I suspected her of nefarious schemes like Chicago, in order to put forward the point that the Agency staff need to be reduced and those security jobs given to her company at a very high profit.

However, am now beginning to lean more to Hayley as the mole.

After all, she knew everything in her job. And we don't know what else she "knew" before we met her at the beginning of the season, when she arrived to investigate Auggie and Co.

She might very well be the mole. The photo of her holding a gun in a rather aggressive position in the next episodes photos that have been posted made me think Caitlyn is a serious player and out for McQuaid at all costs, but is not the mole. It may well be Hayley.

Ryan has said the mole was in his company and that he was doing his best to hide that fact from his clients. I would imagine that includes the CIA/government.

Hayley works for the governement.

I vote Caitlin -- she reeks of it -- she's working for the Bad Senator.

From the first episode he appeared, I have been saying McQuaid is the bad guy, and all along there have been red herrings after red herrings. Last night, I ALMOST started to believe it was Hayley and her dumb freckles, but alas, McQuaid paid off dogwalker guy. Hey, dogwalker guy: if you're gonna play dogwalker guy; at least take care of your dog. Poor thing needs a bath!

I like how you say "Ryan says..." as if we're supposed to believe him and that just because Hayley works for the government, she is clean? I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it is very easy to believe she could have been the mole had it not been Ryan himself. For all we know, they're BOTH moles, and even if they are or neither are, can we please have someone shoot this Caitlyn woman? I cannot stand this wench!

That could very well be another red herring. Caitlyn is his number 2. His employees are her employees. She could have been the one to send Dog walker guy to watch/stalk/cause Roger to be paranoid without Ryan being aware. I sincerely doubt the McQuade CEO is privy or even cares about every pissant assignment given to his employees. Caitlyn runs the day to day while Ryan runs around the world playing spy boy.

You're absolutely right, they both could be moles. There being an mole in McQuade's company does not preclude there being a mole in CIA. And, yes, they could be working together. That being said, my point still stands. Hayley would not being Ryan's mole (the specific point I addressed in my previous response). Caitlyn would be the mole in Ryan's company. And Hayley or whoever in the CIA. As someone mentioned it could be the Senator on the intelligence committee.

Another reason I doubt Ryan is the villain, Nic Bishop is listed in the regular cast list (right between Hill Harper and Peter Gallagher) and not as a guest star. (Just like Hill Harper last season.) The actress who plays Caitlyn is a guest star. (Like the actor who played Henry.)

Given that Annie has been put on a desk by the CIA, there is a good chance that moving forward, to keep her as a field agent, she will be moved to Ryan's company.

You could be totally right too! I was thinking about it after yours and other posts and said, is this too easy? It kind of seems so because then I would have mapped out from episode 1 and that is no fun to know! I don't trust Caitlyn so it could be her, but that could be too easy too. Hayley may not be RYAN's mole, but I wouldn't be surprised if she is some kind of mole. Of course she could be squeaky clean but how many of those types exist? I still don't even trust Calder on some days and I definitely don't trust his whore so...maybe EVERYONE is a mole at this point. As long as someone reinstates poor Annie. I know she can be selfish and I have always complained she gets away with way too much for as short a time as she's been around but please help Piper! hehe

It's Caitlyn. If Ryan goes down as a terrorist, she probably gets the company. She's setting Ryan up.

Tonight's ep made it look like McQuaid is being setup by the way it ended. But by whom? Caitlyn seems obvious but one thing that doesn't make sense based on tonight's episode was the encounter with the 2 goons in the bunker. Caitlyn shot one of them and it didn't seem like they recognized her which would be strange if they were "Flint" guys. So who do they work for and what were they doing in the bunker?

reply

Looked to me like one of the guys was dogwalker guy. (He is the one who grabbed Annie first). Awfully, convenient for him not to recognize Ryan's #2, isn't it?

I don't put it past Caitlyn to have set the whole thing up to get Annie to trust her. Since she thinks Annie is a mole for the CIA. She shot one - collateral damage. If she's willing to blow up an office full of CIA agents, you don't know she'd be willing to take out one of her own guys? Anyway, she missed dogwalker guy. Another awfully convenient occurrence.

Yeah, and didn't she say a couple episodes ago that managing the money was her job, yet in last night's episode she pretended not to know how badly the company had been doing financially...
