I read an article in some show business magazine that showed that it has lost almost half of its viewers from last year. I believe it's the worst performing drama on USA - (Suits is the best) so I think this may be the very end. And McQuaid could have had the dog walker shadowing her for protection because he's in love with her. Just MHO
Its not the worst performing drama. I believe the new dramas this season are doing worse, as is Graceland. But these are relatively newer shows. Its doing worse than Suits and Royal Pains which are the two older USA dramas. I think it is probably also a more expensive show since they do seem to do on location shooting at some foreign locales. So you may be right about the renewal.

Could not agree more :)
And I also think you are right about the renewal, as sad as that makes me, because in the last few eps the writing has really improved. A lot.

I think it may be one of the ones with the lower viewer ratings, but it definitely doesn't have the lowest ratings. I'm pretty sure Satisfaction and Rush aren't doing too well in ratings. I also read that Royal Pains took a dip in ratings. Suits and Graceland are definitely the two shows that get the most viewers. I'm not sure that they will renew it either. White Collar is only getting six episodes for its final season and its ratings are a lot higher than Covert Affairs. If they do end it, I hope that they do it properly and don't just cancel it or at least don't rush it into a few episodes, like White Collar.
This is fading memory only, so feel free to correct me.
But my recollection is that CA was renewed every time pretty early-ish in the season. And for the last couple that took breaks, before the break period. Does anybody remember this to be accurate?
And now, no mention about renewal; it's pretty quiet.
I do hope that they are not so far along with the final couple of episodes, that it's not too late to rewrite and film a proper final ending, if cancelation is going to be this show's fate....
They must have done filming already for the post-break eps, because we saw previews with Eyal in it, etc.
I know USA and "Covert Affairs" is first and foremost a business, pure and simple. And if it's too late to write a true ending because it's already written and almost in the can, then that's that. I doubt the network would spend money to can an episode already filmed as a season finale just to please a few fans who are looking for closure.
But hope springs there will be time to wrap it up and that the rest of this season is not all set in film concrete already if they get the thumbs down soon.
The ratings have been dropping for all USA shows. Because of this I don't think Covert Affairs will get an abrupt cancellation. I suspect that like White Collar it will be given a 6 episode final season to wrap up the show.
I highly doubt they will pull a move like TNT did when it canceled Leverage right before the season finale was supposed to air despite Leverage still having good ratings.

No, the eps WILL air, starting NOV 6, as annoucned by the writers. The crew is shooting the last two eps these days (that will take place in Argentina).
I never said the last few episodes of this season wouldn't air. I said I doubt they show would be canceled without being given a 6 episode final season like White Collar. AKA a 6 episode season after this one finishes.

Well, at least if it doesn’t come back, they have done a great job of ‘positioning’ it for a logical wrap-up.
Annie’s heart condition is the perfect point on which to end the series if her association with the Agency (which is the reason we are all here in the first place) ends because of it.
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.
