She's part of a crew of chosen children that's being sent to another planet after EARTH becomes inhabitable. But since it takes 86 YEARS to get there, Lily's generation won't arrive, and it's supposed to be their grandchildren who will actually get there.
And to keep them civilized during the long journey, when they become teenagers they're also given a BLUE DRUG to drink as a way to keep them uninterested in SEX and other AGGRESSIVE behaviors.
But after 2 of the boys discover this, they stop drinking it, and then all kinds of hell breaks out (even worse stuff happens than you see taking place in this IDOL story). LILY's character also becomes the first female to be attacked by the males who stop taking the drug.

The way she moves her body is much more IMPRESSIVE than the way that LILY does. In other words, you can also tell she's had the kind of professional dance training that LILY has not.
And IF the PSYCHOPATH drank the same BLUE STUFF that the VOYAGER characters drink in the OTHER STORY then we'd also be much better off.
Because then there'd be no need to subject us to watching this horribly written story, which is full of a bunch of EXTREMELY BORING TORTURE PORN scenes.

Let's wait and see if you still feel the same way about LILY's character after the LAST EPISODE airs next Sunday.
Because after the HORRIBLE way that she ORDERS the PSYCHOPATH to repeatedly ELECTROCUTE Xander (for simply telling the TRUTH about her), I'm thinking she may also have some other plans for THE TWIG (as you put it) that also have NOTHING whatsoever to do with her character having any kind of CLASS.
Because also NOTE the way that she CRIES or has TEARS running down her cheeks when she tells the TWIG that it's ok for her to STEAL her "WORLD CLASS SINNER" song.
In other words, the TWIG's probably also in some "VERY BIG TROUBLE" for messing around with LILY's character the way that she has.

Since the show has several WARNINGS before it airs about how INAPPROPRIATE the SEXUAL and other content of it is, imo, the claim that it's FOR TEENS seems to have NO VALIDITY whatsoever.

The Idol doesn't work in any level: not ironically, satirically, self-parodic... lazy soft-core pastime for adolescents or even less so as a serious and intelligent denouncement of the excesses and miseries of show biz.
