Will it be back?
Has there been an announcement about next season? This season was so short it makes me wonder.

I just read that this season was so short because Louis got stoned and had a rush of ideas and ended up putting the season into production earlier than scheduled. Due to the early start, FX could only schedule/fund 8 episodes. Louis agreed, even though he realized his stoned material was trash and he had to rewrite.

So from that story, it sounds like Louis still enjoys coming up with episode ideas and in no way viewed the creation of this season as the culmination of the series or anything.
My bet is it returns for at least one more 13 episode season, but it might be 1.5-2 years before it returns.
That's funny, this season made me feel like I was stoned. Only, not one of those good highs where your mind takes you to profound and previously unimagined realms. This was more of a paranoid, anxious, contorted high. One that triggers untapped emotional reservoirs that contain primitive fears, inhibitions and a sense of impending doom.
It wasn't all bad, and perhaps Louie was simply doing what he does; trying to be as true to himself and his audience as he believes he can be. But the energy of previous seasons just wasn't there, or was just a bit off. Louie did become a bit of a bummer this season. Here's to a reinvigorated, more positively infused Louie C.K. for season 6. It's always pure heart with this guy, so for all of the inspiration and humility that he's shared throughout this odyssey, I am immensely grateful and willing to take a little bit of the not-so-good as part of the package.
