This show feels a lot more european than it does amerivan

Louie is one of my favourite shows ever. One thing I guess that makes it special is how incredibly creative, poetic and diverese every episode feels. The themes it touches and the way it is directed gives it a bizarre noire-ish feeling that no other series can create. In this sense I feel like its very unamerican. Especially when talking about american tv which a lot of people associate with crass and extreme types of humor, rather one sided characters and cliched outcomes. Louie feels completly different. Its just as funny as it is tragic and depressing. I'm very surprised how much of a hit it is with audiences. Its probably the most mature series in quite some time.

It’s a New York-based, adult show. That’s why it’s Amerivan and not typical European like Keeping Up Appearances, Ab Fab, or Pop Idol.

Nobody cares what Wieners mis-perceive “Amerivan Shows” to be like. Ameriva obviously produces among the highest amount of television in the world, which includes the full range from good to bad—enough programs that many many can be called bad and still many many can be called good. That’s why you watch them and that’s why, with respect to this topic, unfunny Wiener shows don’t matter, no matter how many boobies they show or how much Mozart they play at the train station. You guys chased all the talented Jews out (or worse); Ameriva reaped the benefit.
