very few scenes of them selling goods??

why is this??? just a couple per episode would be cool as 95% of the scenes of them are buying/haggling off customers

great show all the same!

"95% of the scenes of them are buying/haggling off"

No, 95% of the scenes/show are the terribly written and acted sketch comedy bits.

what??? are u slagging off my number one fave tv show????!!!

reply

Dunno. It doesn't come up very often, does it? Same thing with someone wanting to pawn an item.

In fact, the first time I saw someone wanting to buy an item, I said aloud, "Holy Crap! The guy wants to BUY something?" 

In the few instances where someone wanted to buy something, it involved a celebrity coming into the shop. Off the top of my head, a few would be:

George Stephanopoulos (sp?)
Katie Couric, and
Steve Carell

Joker's Wilde

Early on they showed stuff, but since they sold things for way more than they told the seller they could get for the item I'm guessing people stopped showing up to be ripped off.

reply

Maybe it's because before buying anything they go into a little bit of the history of the item, which at times can be interesting. When selling that probably wouldn't go into the history of the item again and how much haggling would there really be between the buyer and the pawn shop

"God must love stupid people because he made so many of them"

reply

The items they sold wouldn't have to be the same items that were bought....so they could be totally different stories.

reply

Also have they ever shown someone pawning something? Someone who just needs a quick loan, but is otherwise not creditworthy?

Maybe they could show Corey pawning something so he could pay Chomondeley's bail?

reply

Yeah, that's the ticket. Rick might tell Corey that Chomondeley wasn't worth it - he should stew in prison for a day or two. Rick lowballs Corey on the item.

Corey brings in something else.

reply

There was the guy who pawned a truck to meet payroll early in the series.

reply

Because Rick takes up too much time telling stories about every item that comes in. I bet he's real fun at parties.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog

reply

Because the only things they are selling is the tourist attraction items. T-shirts,bobble heads, Old Man silver coins, mugs, glasses. The generic tourist stuff with Pawn Stars slapped on it.
