Calvary


I enjoy this show, but I wince a little every time Rick says calvary when he means cavalry. It is not that uncommon a mistake, I suppose, but Rick is a history buff. To me this is rather like a chef habitually calling the pasta "pasketti."

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Rick is a "history buff." Meaning he really isn't, he just plays one on TV.

So you think when he talks about history in regard to the items people bring in, he is merely parroting lines that have been written for him?

Exactly. What, you thought he just knew all that random obscure trivia off the top of his bald head?

It's even more apparent when his son rattles off information as if he's knows it.

You can tell by the way their staccato changes, when they are reciting, or reading facts.
