Why did sellers expect top value for their items?

I never understood why the sellers expected Rick to pay what their item was worth? Even when Rick explained that he has to buy it below value so he can make a profit and they'd still give him shot for it. Do people not know how businesses with?

Their was one time Cory offered what it was worth because it was so nice.

Generally, people go to pawn shops because they are desperate for quick cash. $50 now is better than $500 in 2 - 4 weeks.

Because it's a TV show, not like walking into a typical pawn shop.

Yeah. it's all pre produced and that so called shop is filled with fake stuff and random "actors" standing around looking all interested in the junk. It's common knowledge now. Sometimes you'll notice the shop is empty when a seller comes in.

I've always said that. it's a PAWN shop, you don't get top dollar there...try eBay.
