Why Was the Nightclub Murder Considered a Problem? (spoilers)

After the nightclub poisoning hit, the Iceman runs into a friend (with his wife) outside and stops to speak. Then he leaves with Mr. Freezy. Later, Ray Liotta is upset that he "messed" up the hit. How?

Thanks

I think Robert Davi's character - Leonard Marks - was the mastermind behind the nightclub hit, not Ray Liotta's Roy DeMeo.

He stopped to talk to somebody. I'm not familiar with the rules of killing people, but I would imagine that's probably something you would not do.

Also, the next time you see Ray Liotta's character, he mentions Richie's friend Terry, so that technically makes him a witness to what happened.

A little Consideration, a little Thought for Others, makes all the difference. Eeyore

I believe the man that was killed in the nightclub was Demao's friend. That's why he was so pissed off about Richie. That and him doing murders behind his bosses back.

No, see, Liotta was upset that he DID the hit. Iceman hit one of Liotta's friends in that scene, without Liotta's permission. If he hadn't run into his friend who blabbed about it later, Liotta wouldn't have known that Iceman did the hit.
