Richard Kuklinski The Liar

Most of what Richard Kuklinski said in the HBO documentaries and book "The Iceman" by Philip Carlo have been debunked and proven as lies!

The Police have compiled air tight evidence, built rock solid cases and convicted people for many of the murders Kuklinski claims to have carried out! Ex Mafia family members who have turned states evidence have actually confessed to many of the crimes The Iceman took credit for! And please bare in mind these people could not be prosecuted and had nothing to lose by admitting to the killings.

Even Philip Carlo, author of The Iceman book had to embarrassingly admit in one of his other books about another mafia figure that what he was told by Kuklinski was lies and incorrect!

In the book The Murder Machine, the Iceman is not even mentioned once! the FBI had Roy Demeo's clubhouse under surveillance for a long period of time and Kuklinski wasn't ever seen coming or going! not once in all that time! the only known record of him ever coming into contact with Roy Demeo was to buy some cheap silencers off him.

Yes the book is a good read (if very repetitive) but treat it as fiction with a sprinkling of truth. The documentaries are chilling but the man is a good actor and even during his interview with Park Dietz it's clear he's making things up on the spot.

No question about it The Iceman did kill people but the true figure's are from anywhere between 8 - 30 people! not in the hundreds

He had nothing to do with the murders of Roy DeMeo, Paul Castellano or Jimmy Hoffa

They said he had something to do with those three guys? Maybe he killed President Kennedy :)

When I first moved to Brooklyn someone introduced me to the Gemini lounge. Place was filled with thieves. I was in there a lot and the club that used to be on Ave N near Aliotta's bakery and the 19 hole.
Never saw that guy in any of those places.

Hey ever wonder why he never dealt heroin a lot more money in juke then killing people

I read his alleged biography and it is riddled with with ramblings of a madman. He claimed he used to through bodies in "bottomless" pits, feed them to dog sized rats, he killed hoffa, etc lol

It still was an entertaining read and this could turn out a good movie..I Iust wouldn't take anything but the documented facts as truth.

I haven't seen this yet, but he had a friend, a guy in an icecream truck that should make a good side story that may possibly be true...or maybe not?

People who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

I'm reading the Iceman book right now and I agree a lot of it sounds like BS...other times its just contradicting other stuff...someone in the documentary says that he didn't gamble or drink yet in the book it talks about many instances where he's drunk and blowing money on gambling...at one point the wife in the book is saying he was a perfect husband who never did anything bad to them and later on she says he was 2 different people and a complete psychopath who beat her and this and that...I also don't think he was responsible for as many murders as he claims...reminds me of WeeBey on the Wire actually...he realizes he's getting life in prison regardless of how many he confesses to so he just decides to add on some more to grow his rep so to speak

Oh please, I don't know why people are bothered by the fact that somethings may be true and others may not be. The guy was a hardened criminal and enthusiastic murderer. I'm sure he wouldn't be shy about lying as well. Lol

The thing about sociopathic killers is they often get joy out of lying, stretching the truth as well as telling the truth in a way that sounds like a lie to eff with people's heads. Why would Kuklinski sit down for a TV interview just to tell a mundane story where he didn't do much more than any the criminal? Bottom line, who cares? It's been made into a movie because it's an interesting and darkly entertaining story.

Look at Goodfellas. Based on Henry Hill's true story. Does anyone that's seen that movie or read his book truly believe he's never murdered anyone in his life. Do people really believe that the crazy killers he hung out with would allow him to simply stand next to them while they murdered others and let him live without getting his hands bloody as well?

Criminals are known for lying to save themselves and lying to make themselves look dangerous.

Henry Hill may have killed people. However, none of his associates claimed that he did;nor was he ever arrested or tried for doing it.

No trial = No murders.

Goodfellas was BS because it put Tommy DeSimone in situations where Pete and Paulie Vario Jr. were actually involved. It also left out huge details of the what the Robert's Lounge crew did.

Read Nicholas Pileggi's Wiseguy. It relates the real story of what happened.

Bad films are a crime against humanity.

i agree with you . i watched the documentaries and you can tell there is too much lies and exaggeration in what he says. i think he got cocky after he got the media attention plus he knows that he can say whatever he wants in those interviews and nothing will happen to him

Yeah, the story was completely bogus.

A film about Lupo the Wolf or Rivi Ayala would be much more interesting. They killed a lot more people.
