Big disappointment

I thought the movie would be more of a biopic/biography based on Richard K's life. He has confessed to many many things. and has been open about his childhood,his sadistic father,murders,his interest in killing animals,just so much that really could've made this movie SO SO much better. But none of it was mentioned at all....If someone wanted to get an idea of Richard K and watched this movie with out knowing anything. They would've walked away with barely any kind of details of his life.. This was a huge disappointment. Best thing about this movie was Michael Shannon. I didn't care for anyone else

The movie would have needed an hour added to the running time to delve into a lot of stuff about his life. It did feel to go at a rushed pace. I thought it was still a good movie, but not great. I just wish it was a lot longer than it was so they could have went into more detail about his life, and that things didn't feel so rushed.

Yeah I agree with all of you. It was good for what it was,some good stand out parts,but it was still a HUGE let down for me. Especially since I checked out the book first. The book really went into depth with his child abuse,father etc...I waited to watch this movie forever that's what made it even a bigger disappointment when I saw it. I think it should be redone by a different writer/director.

Agreed - huge disappointment. Huge. There is so much interesting material here - they missed the mark.

yup, I was kind of let down overall. There were some good moments but those were very brief

As soon as I saw the trailer I had a feeling it wouldn't be very good.
I first read about him by randomly borrowing a book about him at the library and it was so chilling, can't believe they couldn't have done a better job with the source material.

Not a bad film in itself, but nothing special either. The real story is far more memorable.
