Ray DiDeo died around the same time this film takes place, but I was wondering if his character's death is shown?

No, and that's a problem with the third act, that storyline seems somewhat unresolved. They should have either had Kuklinski killed him or shown him getting killed by somebody else.

Thankfully, Ray Liotta is still alive as of August 18, 2013. Apparently filming this movie wasn't that harsh.

It's shown in the newspaper Freezy gives to Iceman in the park. But it's unclear who killed him, probably Leo's friends.

I believe the article refers the death of Leo Marks, not DeMeo.
