Could a movie be made about the life of Richard Ramirez?

If a movie were to be made about the life and crimes of Richard Ramirez, what do you think could/would be the right approach?

I know that a movie with such subject matter would be highly controversial and would upset/anger alot of people still living that were relatives of his victims and I'm not sure what legalities are involved when it comes to the names of the victims.

I think that the life story of Richard Ramirez is utterly fascinating and I would really like to see a balanced and unbiased movie that respectfully and tactfully told his story.

I don't hate the man nor, obviously do I have any like or admiration for anything he's done. Infact I think his life story is absolutely tragic and it's no wonder he became who he did considering how he was raised and the influences he had growing up. As people no doubt already know, his father was an abusive man who tormented his family and his cousin brainwashed him as a teen and destroyed his mind relaying tales of murder and rape from his time in the Vietnam war in which he showed Richard pictures of women he'd raped and killed and taught Richard how to be a killer. I think these early events in Richard's life would make for the most interesting parts of a potential movie on his life and would help people have a better understanding of what made Richard the way he is.

Movies don't always have to be looked at as glamorizing something or exploiting something. Many movies have been made that document historical events and people and I don't think anything or anyone should be shied away from just because simple minded people believe 'Movie = entertainment'.

Movies about Richard Ramirez already exists. One it's called Night Stalker (i think) and it's bad and the other one is Manhunt: Search for the Night Stalker.

I've seen Manhunt:Search for the Night Stalker. It was average like most of the TV movies. But the climactic chase around L.A. was exiting and the actor Gregory Cruz who played Ramirez was quite good. The post capture scene at the police station where he exchanges a few words with Investigating detectives who arrested him and suddenly starts humming some weird black mass-kind of tune, was chilling.

I agree that chase was the highlight of the movie. You don't see that too much in movies. And the actor was very good.
