Your Favourite Scenes - (Potential Spoilers)

I just saw the movie here in the UK yesterday, and thought it was great! Being a big fan of Philip Carlo's book, I think the film is a faithful enough adaptation.

Here a few of my favourite stand-out scenes -

1. The pool hall scene, early on. When that shmuck starts insulting Richard over his relationship with Debra. "Where theres a will, theres a a way..."

2. The roller skating rink. Where Richard takes his girls and watches them skate, loved the ELO song "Its a living Thing" they used in this scene, and how brilliantly the song blended into the following scene on Richie's car radio.

3. Roy Dimeo warns Josh. Ray Liotta was great as DiMeo, even though he didn't look anything like the actual Roy Dimeo. The scene at the Gemini Lounge, when Roy warns his underling about using his name, and how it's bad he doesn't even respect himself enough to use his own name, I thought was a great moment between the two.

4. The Disco Murder. I really loved this scene, especially Richie and 'Mr Freeze's crazy, goofy dancing as they moved in on their kill, which was an absolute treat! Loved Blondie's "Heart of Glass" use over this scene. The following scene where he bumps into his old friend outside the club was great too, very tense.

5. DiMeo threatening Richard. In the back of the car, outside Richie's daughter's birthday party, very good scary turn from Liotta.

Those are just straight off the top of my head, what were your favourite moments in the film?

when Richie flips out at Deborah and thrashes the kitchen, Michael was amazing in that scene!

I also liked when he visited his brother in prison and there was that brief flashback to his childhood

I really liked the film, but can I just throw in a counterpoint here. My least favoured scene was the jail meeting with his brother that just seemed entirely unrelated to the rest of the movie. I realise that it was supposed to give us a little more background to Richie's character, but I thought it was totally bizarre the two of them standing there within earshot of guards accusing one another of committing various murders. It didn't add anything to the film other than a degree of confusion and a lack of reality.
